Stephen LaBerge, Ph.D., world-renowned expert on lucid dreaming, has pioneered the scientific study of the topic. His groundbreaking research at Stanford University demonstrated the validity of lucid dreaming to the scientific world, and his best-selling books Lucid Dreaming and Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming have introduced thousands to the experience.

Dr. LaBerge’s recent research shows how the phenomenon of lucid dreaming sheds light on the nature of consciousness, viewing consciousness as the dream of what happens, with perception and dreaming essentially differing only by the presence or absence of sensory constraints. He is a dynamic speaker, known for his humor and ability to stimulate thought and to make scientific concepts relevant to the individual. Through the years his research team has developed highly effective techniques, including technological aids, for building lucid dreaming skills.

In addition, Stephen has had extensive personal experience with lucid dreaming, having learned to have lucid dreams at will, and among his thousands of lucid dreams are many which have been delightful, inspiring, enlightening, and life-changing. Thus he is an unabashed advocate of lucid dreaming, believing that the world would be a better place if more people developed the art.

Patricia “Keelin” Keelin is a dedicated and accomplished oneironaut, and a long-time associate of Dr. LaBerge and The Lucidity Institute. Over the past several years, she has shared her experience and endless enthusiasm for lucid dreaming by teaching workshops, facilitating at TLI's Dreaming and Awakening programs, and through numerous radio and television interviews. She has participated in research experiments as a lab subject and worked extensively with the NovaDreamer.

Keelin will be assisting throughout this program, offering guidance and motivation, and insuring that no participant leaves without having done plenty of reality tests, had the odd lucid dream, and fully understood by example the meaning of ALOHA!

Richard Hilton has nurtured an abiding interest in lucid dreaming since 1998. Inspired by a heartfelt appreciation for its potential benefits, particularly in the area of personal development, he produced the short documentary film "Explorers of the Lucid Dream World" in 2004. He has presented and co-facilitated several dream workshops in the Santa Barbara area, participated in research experiments, and assisted with TLI's Dreaming and Awakening programs since 2010.

Richard will be sharing his insights and experiences throughout the program as well as working daily with participants using the NovaDreamer2, downloading data and customizing settings to meet the needs of each individual.

Kristen LaMarca, MA is an avid lucid dreamer with specialized knowledge in clinical psychology. Her recent studies have included research into the creative and therapeutic applications of lucid dreaming as a means for healing, exploring more healthful behavioral choices, and understanding the potential of mind and consciousness. As an experienced practitioner of meditation within the lucid dream state, Kristen will also share insights into the discipline that has resulted in much personal reward and an increased fascination with the state of lucidity.

In addition to assisting with scientific research and experiments conducted throughout the program, Kristen will be working with participants on a daily basis to help them hone the skill sets foundational to a steady and fullfilling lucid dream practice.
